Calgary Climate Week was created with an ambitious vision: to bring people, ideas, and industries together to accelerate climate action and position Calgary as a global hub for climate innovation. Taking place June 1–6, 2026, the city-wide initiative brought together business leaders, innovators, investors, policymakers, and community members through a diverse program of executive discussions, educational sessions, and collaborative experiences. With a mission this big, Calgary Climate Week needed more than a marketing campaign. It needed a strategic, cohesive approach that could build awareness, inspire participation, and connect with audiences across multiple sectors. That's where Swank came in. Working closely with the Calgary Climate Week team, we became an integral marketing and creative partner, helping shape the event's strategy, communications, and overall experience from planning through execution.
Our approach began with understanding the bigger picture. Calgary Climate Week wasn't simply another industry event. It was an opportunity to bring an entire city together around a shared purpose, creating meaningful connections and conversations that could inspire real change.
Working collaboratively with the organizing team, we helped guide the brand and event strategy, ensuring the messaging, marketing initiatives, and creative direction reflected the event's ambitious vision while remaining accessible to a broad and diverse audience.
From there, we developed and executed an integrated marketing approach spanning social media, promotional campaigns, public relations, and audience engagement. Through strategic storytelling, content development, and coordinated communications, we helped build awareness, highlight speakers and programming, celebrate partnerships, and generate excitement leading up to the event.
Beyond the digital experience, our team provided ongoing creative direction, marketing collateral, event signage, and design support to bring consistency to the experience across multiple venues and touchpoints.
Throughout the process, Swank worked as an extension of the Calgary Climate Week team, adapting to evolving priorities, supporting new opportunities, and helping bring countless moving pieces together.
Calgary Climate Week 2026 brought an ambitious vision to life, welcoming approximately 1,000 registrations across six days of programming, including a sold-out Executive Forum, 24 partner events, and activations spanning nine venues throughout the city. Our integrated marketing and communications efforts helped generate more than 356,000 social media impressions across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, alongside coverage from four mainstream media outlets. Together, these efforts helped establish a strong foundation for awareness, engagement, and continued growth.
Beyond the numbers, Calgary Climate Week created opportunities for meaningful connections and collaboration. Post-event survey results showed that 82% of respondents would recommend the event, while the same percentage reported making, anticipating, or considering new professional connections. The event also contributed approximately $140,000 in local economic activity through hotels, venues, and service providers, demonstrating the broader value of bringing Calgary's climate community together.
For Swank, the success of this project went beyond marketing performance. It was about helping bring an ambitious vision to life through strategic thinking, creative execution, and genuine collaboration. From the first campaign to the final moments of the event, we were proud to play an integral role in building a recognizable platform for climate innovation, meaningful conversations, and lasting connections. With its inaugural year complete, Calgary Climate Week has established a strong foundation for continued growth and an even greater impact in the years ahead.
